A passion for sign language and Bruno Mars' smash hit Uptown Funk have propelled a pregnant mother-of-three to internet stardom.
Sarah-Jane Gillman loves to dance and sing, and demonstrated her passion in this funky video.
The 33-year-old from Marlow has been left “stunned” by the reaction to the clip, in which she performs Uptown Funk, by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, in sign language.
It has been watched on Facebook more than 1.8 million times, reports Wales Online.
Made at home, the video shows Sarah-Jane translating the lyrics into sign for the deaf and hard of hearing.
“I’ve wanted to learn sign language since I was 10 years old," she said.
“When I was in primary school I used to go and read to the deaf children in my school and that’s where my first interest in sign language came from.
“Obviously having my children meant I had to put a hold on things for a bit.”
But with the support of her husband, Laurence, Sarah-Jane has completed her introduction course, levels one and took an exam for level two on Monday night.
“I want to go on as far as I can.
"I’d love to be an interpreter and maybe one day work on TV, but I know you have to be of a really high standard for that.”
Sarah-Jane, a member of her local theatre group, has already performed songs in front of live audiences.
“I’ve performed a few songs in sign language now,” she said.
“It’s great that I can marry all my passions together.”
She added: “I’m delighted with all the feedback I’m getting and as well as me learning to communicate with the deaf community, hopefully it will encourage more people to learn.”
