Theatre-goers will be treated to an exciting evening of dance from the dance stars of the future.
Dance students aged 11-19 from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts will be taking to the stage at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre to perform Encounters, a mixed programme of classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, featuring the Dacorum Youth Orchestra under its conductor, Claudio di Meo.
Director of dance Rachel Rist said: "We are proud to showcase our talented young dancers in the lovely Aylesbury Waterside Theatre , our local theatre.
"Encounters will show our dance students performing in a wide variety of dance styles that will feature some guest choreographers. There is something in the show for everyone from classical ballet, thought-provoking contemporary dance, charming young dancing and commercial jazz."
Tring Park boasts an impressive alumni of dancers, singers and thespians.
Former Tring Park pupil Drew McOnie recently won an Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer for his work on In The Heights at the King’s Cross Theatre at the awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House on 3 April.
Five former dance pupils from Tring Park have played the role of Billy in the critically acclaimed Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End.
As well as an impressive alumni of dancers, Tring Park boasts a glittering line-up of world-famous actors and singers. These include Daisy Ridley ( Star Wars: The Force Awakens ) Lily James (Pride and Prejudice and Disney’s Cinderella), Ella Henderson (The X Factor) and Jessica Findlay-Brown (Downton Abbey).
The performance will be on Sunday July 3 at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre at 7.30pm.
