Bucks Open Studios 2016 officially opens the door on the wealth of artistic talent in the county on Saturday June 11.

There are a record number of entries for this year's event, with hundreds of artists opening the doors of their studios to the public between June 11 and Sunday June 26.

As our gallery shows, the wealth of talent in Buckinghamshire is enormous and artists including painters, printmakers, glass workers, jewllery makers, photographers, ceramicists and textile artists will be among those taking part.

The annual art event, which is one of the biggest in the country, gives members of the public the opportunity to see artists at work in their studios as well as viewing exhibitions of work.

Bucks Open Studios organisers Bob and Ann Marshall said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that this is going to be our biggest year so far. Entries from artists and groups across the county flooded in and we are delighted to welcome both our new creative talent as well as artists and makers who have been doing the event for many years.

“We also have a great spread of talent across all disciplines and geographical locations and have actually doubled the number of participants in the Milton Keynes area which is all fantastic news for our visitors.

Sally Prendergast, Little Kimble

“This is a great endorsement of the popularity and professionalism of the event and we hope to top the 48,000 visits from members of the public at our 2015 event. It’s never too early to start planning your visits.”
