BEACONSFIELD continued with their winning form on Saturday when they easily overcame local neighbours Slough 42-22.
It is a win that keeps them at the top of the table, four points clear of second placed Grove RFC in the Southern Counties North.
They played with their usual style and intent, but although the final result was never in doubt, they struggled to produce their best against a team at the bottom of the table.
In National League Three, Oxford picked up precious points in their battle to stay away from the bottom of the table and are now just behind Amersham & Chiltern in the table after their 23-14 win at Weedon Lane.
Chesham claimed a bonus point win to move closer to the top four in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Championship.
But skipper Gareth Wehrle admitted the display fell short of expectations, with the final score far too close for comfort after a 32-25 victory over Winslow.
"Despite the win, we're disappointed with the result, as we were targeting this game for a big score, although we came back well to close out the game," Wehrle said.
