AMERSHAM and Chiltern Rugby Club’s U9s returned from their end of season tour with silverware following a tournament victory in the Weymouth mini-rugby tournament at the weekend.
The team were in fine form, coming through six group games with a 100 per cent winning record and no tries conceded.
In the final, tries from Daniel Holmes, Lucas Batt, William Morley and Oliver Heusen helped to secure a 4-1 victory against Llandaff Rugby Club, from Wales.
The strength in depth of the Amersham squad was evident from the third place in the tournament secured by the B team.
The victory at Weymouth completed an impressive hat-trick of end of season tournament wins for the young players, following success in competitions held at Marlow and Tring.
