WYCOMBE Squash Club extended their handsome lead at the top of the Bucks Squash League with a 17-9 victory at one of their closest challengers – Chesham Bois.

Tom Ormiston fought hard in the first rubber for Chesham, but lost 3-1 to Andy Walters.

However, Will Gardner evened things up with a 3-1 win over Will Buckfield.

Another gruelling marathon for Wycombe’s Sam Carr saw him recover from losing the third set 9-0 to win 3-2. Wycombe skipper Luke Power was taken all the way by Tim King before winning the decider 10-8.

That gave Wycombe a 10-8 lead going into the final round, but with the score at 1-1, Harry Carr slowly pulled away from Phil Taylor to win another close rubber 3-1.
