Bucks played hosts to London in their second game of the Inter-Counties darts season and scored a win for the first time since February 2007.
After Saturday’s opening B games at Aylesbury Ex Services, they had a narrow 10-8 lead going into Sunday, the first time Bucks had the advantage at that stage since April 2007.
It was still close going into the last four men’s games, with a 5-1 score from the final three ladies making it 18-14. A dramatic finale saw Dave Babb go down 3-1 before both Damien Fyffe and Graeme Oliver failed to get a winning double in the two five-leggers.
With everything hingeing on the final game, former England international Mark Day stepped onto the stage knowing he carried the hopes of the county on his shoulders. He showed why he tops the Super League, winning 3-0 with a 23.96 average.
