SURVIVAL is all but secured for Holmer after this vital home victory on Saturday.

The Greens have been fighting the drop all season but are now six points from the bottom two and with a superior goal difference with just two games left to play.

If they avoid heavy defeats in their final games then Holmer can look forward to Premier Division football again next season.

The winning goal came after just 10 minutes through reserve team striker Dean Stenning, who continues to impress and drilled home from 15 yards.

Harefield, already safe, looked there for the taking but Holmer’s wayward shooting made sure it was a nervy second-half with Greens stopper Sam Bunting forced to pull off a superb save to tip a fierce shot onto the crossbar on 71 minutes.

But they held on to record the priceless win and notch their eighth home win since Christmas.
