CHESHAM United have re-signed ex-Newcastle United striker Paul Robinson.

The 32-year-old played in the back end of last season for the Generals before moving back to the nort-east and playing for Jarrow in the Northern League First Division.

But the former Toon Army hitman has moved back down south and United boss Andy Leese has jumped at the chance to link up with him again at The Meadow.

“Paul has a real affinity with the club,” he said. “We will assess his fitness this week in reserve games, starting at London Lions.

“He has been playing in Newcastle and he tells me he has been keeping fit. There is no doubt he can score goals, but we need him to have the work ethic he showed early in pre-season.”
