DENHAM Village A fielded three juniors against Higher Denham – Alex Holland, Adam Reed and Jared Patel – but still won comfortably to go three points clear at the top of the Chalfonts Table Tennis League.

Higher Denham, whose three points in a 7-3 defeat came from master veteran John Taylor, have a match in hand. Elsewhere in the top flight, Alfa defeated Beta in the battle of the Chalfont teams – Mark Scholfield and Steve Smith getting maximum points for the winners.

Rickmansworth B had another miserable night, with only two players available again, and they went down 6-4 to Village B, despite Kevin Williams winning all his sets.
