Chalfont Wasps boss steps down

CHALFONT Wasps boss Martin Kenealey said he is leaving Chalfont Wasps with his head held high after a successful spell in charge.

CHALFONT Wasps boss Martin Kenealey said he is leaving Chalfont Wasps with his head held high after a successful spell in charge.

Kenealey has called time on his two and a half year stint as boss of the Stingers, saying he had taken the club as far as he can. Reserve team boss David Fisher is elevated to the hotseat.

"I enjoyed my time here, but decided a couple of months ago that I wanted to progress and didn't think I could go any further with Chalfont," the 26-year-old said.

"It has taken a lot of effort to build a side that can challenge for promotion, because the best players keep getting picked off by the teams in the league above.

"But I feel we have done well in the last couple of seasons. I took over a side in danger of relegation and took them to mid table. We've since been pushing at the top and reached some cup finals."
