Chalfont Otters celebrate record breaking year

CHALFONT Otters swimmers celebrated a record breaking year at their annual presentation evening, after 92 club records were broken in 2011.

CHALFONT Otters swimmers celebrated a record breaking year at their annual presentation evening, after 92 club records were broken in 2011.

The event followed the Club Championships which ran from October to December and the big winner was 11-year-old Maya Semyonova-Hoyland who smashed an amazing 24 records.

During a brilliant year 11-year-old Charley Hugget broke 11 records while 12-year-old Angus Guironnet and 13-year-old Harvey James broke seven apiece.

The new captains were announced at the event, with Kelvin Jones announced the club captain for 2012 while Nicola Twinning was named senior girls captain and Jordan Hugget senior boys captain.

Semyonova-Hoyland and Angus Guironnet were named captains of the junior teams.

The club’s swimmers, who train at Chalfont Leisure Centre and Amersham Pool, will compete in the county championship over the next month with the prize of success being qualification for the South East Regional Championships.
