THE honeymoon period for new Amersham boss Chris Miller is well and truly over as the Magpies slumped to their third league defeat in a row.

THE honeymoon period for new Amersham boss Chris Miller is well and truly over as the Magpies slumped to their third league defeat in a row.

A derby defeat at their derby rivals has left Town languishing in 19 th position in the Spartan South Mids Division One and just two points from the dropzone.

The weekend clash at Athletic was a tight affair until the home side took the lead five minutes after the restart through a Matt Chart header.

Ten minutes later and their lead was doubled as slack defending allowed Andy Hammond to smash the ball into the top of the net.

That goal finally sparked Amersham into life and they pulled a goal back on 66 minutes through Jack Edmeads.

As the visitors pushed for a winner, Buckingham made the game safe as Hammond completed his brace.
