The 24th running of Chiltern Harriers ' Herbert’s Hole Challenge was won by Richard Coles of neighboring club Gade Valley Harriers in 40.41 mins.

He was the first home of 275 finishers who made their way round the gruelling 10k course in Chesham in the aftermath of Storm Angus.

Conditions were much better than expected, with only light rain, but deep mud and puddles to contend with.
In second place was Stephen Norris of Thames Valley Harriers, in 41.2,3 and in third was Jonathan Roberts, also of Gade Valley, in 41.45.

Chiltern's own Ellie Bates was first lady home, completing the race in 45.39, while in second and third were Sarah Gerrie of Ealing, Southall & Middlesex and Claire Hall, finishing in 47.14 and 47.19. Team prizes went to Gade Valley (men), Chiltern (women) and Focusrite Flyers (fun team).

Chiltern's David Thomas and Eve Kopelman also won their respective age categories, junior men and junior women, in 42.16 and 57.53.

The other age category winners were: Dermot Martin (M40) 42.01; Steve Roberts (M50) 43.58; Ian Birch (M60) 48.48; Lynda Hembury (F55) 50.16; Jenny Hughes (F45) 50.20 and Jo Hercules (F35) 51.19.

Female winner: Ellie Bates
