WYCOMBE are lining up a move for former Brentford defender Sam Wood.

The 25-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, is a free agent after being released by the Bees this summer following four years at Griffin Park and spent most of last season on loan at Rotherham.

A host of clubs, including League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon, are chasing his signature but he is believed to favour a move to Adams Park.

Wanderers remain under a transfer embargo and in the middle of a takeover but boss Gary Waddock is lining up his targets in anticpation of it being completed soon.
