BLUES boss Gary Waddock admits he has to accept Dave Winfield's two-game ban.

The 22-year-old defender will miss the home games with Cheltenham on February 1 and Port Vale four days later after picking up his 10 th booking of the season on Saturday.

He will be a big miss for Wanderers but Waddock accepts that Winfield's physicality is key to his form.

He said: "It was a silly booking from Dave's point of view and we have told him that.

"He is now out for two games and it gives someone else an opportunity. Dave has done extremely well but the way he plays means he is going to pick up bookings. He is a big, strong lad."

Alan Bennett and Leon Johnson will battle it out to replace Winfield.
