SYCOB end home rot with vital point

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB ended their losing home run but saw their cushion in the top six cut to just four points.

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB ended their losing home run but saw their cushion in the top six cut to just four points.

The Rams are making hard work of securing an Evo-Stik Division One Central play-off berth with chasing Northwood and Rugby Town bearing down on their third-place spot.

But the visit of high-flying Bedworth – who are second joint highest league scorers – was a tricky test for Byron Walton’s wobbling side and a point is no bad result.

The home side took the lead on 11 minutes when giant defender Yiadom Yeboah headed in a corner but Bedworth were level 10 minutes after the break when top scorer Mitchell Piggon netted his 13th of the season.

Both sides had chances to snatch all three points but the game ended level with the two teams hanging on to their play-off spots.
