JORDAN Rhodes scored five times as his Huddersfield side humiliated Wycombe in front of the Sky cameras – yet again.

Wanderers were pummelled 6-0 by the Terriers in 2009 live on the box the last time they were relegated from League One.

And the case of deja-vu was frightening as Rhodes shone for the visitors.

The 21-year-old was watched by Premier League scouts as he tore Wanderers to shreds in an embarrassing night for the club's management, players and fans.

Defeat to the high-flying Terriers was probably not a surprise.

But the manner of the defending and the lack of fight and desire showed by Wycombe was nothing short of a disgrace.

And only the most optimistic Blues fan would now talk up their hopes of surviving the drop and their ability to recover from the psychological scars of this mauling.

Three goals in 15 first-half minutes put Huddersfield in the driving seat with Oscar Gobern heading in a corner on 10 minutes before Rhodes turned in a Jack Hunt cross for his first of the game 10 minutes later.

Wanderers were shell-shocked and the Terriers, who had nine first-half shots on target, five wide of the mark and eight corners, made it 3-0 on 25 minutes.

It was Rhodes again who raced onto a punt upfield and held off the tame tackle of Basey before superbly slotting the ball away.

Wanderers were relieved to hear the half-time whistle which was drowned out by jeers from the home crowd.

And it took just four second-half minutes for Rhodes to net his hat-trick when his initial shot was saved by Bull but the ball fell back in his path to finish.

Worse was to come on 58 minutes when Bull spilled Danny Ward's low drive straight into the path of Rhodes to tap in for his fourth of the game and the Scottish international made it 6-0 on 70 minutes by tapping in a Ward cross.

As the game came to end Blues were grateful not to concede any more and it was hard to see just how Wycombe could recover from this drubbing.
