Rams leave it late to earn point

ANTHONY Page headed in a late equaliser as Beaconsfield SYCOB grabbed a point against promotion rivals Uxbridge.

The midfielder rose to meet a deep cross with a minute to go to keep SYCOB third in the Evo-Stik Division One Central table.

Beaconsfield looked set to continue their sticky form at Holloways Park when Reds striker Chris Moore slid the ball past stopper Michael Power-Simpson on 72 minutes.

It was a tight and scrappy game with chances at a premium but the Rams dug in to earn a share of the spoils to the delight of boss Byron Walton.

“I thought we deserved to get something out of the game today and that the goal we gave away was sloppy," he said. "On the whole, we had quite a bit of the play and a draw probably suits us a lot more than it does them.”
