No panic for Rams boss despite recent slump

BYRON Walton is not about to press the panic button despite Beaconsfield SYCOB’s recent dip in form.

BYRON Walton is not about to press the panic button despite Beaconsfield SYCOB’s recent dip in form.

The weekend home defeat to St Neots Town means they have picked up just one win in their last seven games, with their play-off spot coming under threat from the chasing pack.

But they still have a five-point cushion in the Evo-Stik Division One Central top five ahead of away trips to Barton Rovers and Marlow this week.

“I am not too concerned,” said Walton. “Some of our players have suffered from a dip in form but that happens and, fortunately, we have a decent gap to work with. We are not too far away from going on another run. If we perform like we did against St Neots when we go to Barton on Saturday then I am confident we can start turning it around.”

Walton insists he is happy with his current Rams squad and will not be adding to his ranks in a bid to halt their slide.

“We have a good squad and I am very happy with it,” he said.
