DANNY Edwards has said his side are turning into the 'boring' Arsenal side of the 1990s and grinding out wins.

The Chalfont St Peter boss and Chelsea fan could not resist a cheeky swipe at the Gunners after back-to-back 1-0 wins this week.

Wins at St Margaretsbury and home to Harefield on Tuesday night have kept Chalfont ten points clear at the Spartan South Mids Premier Division summit.

He said: "We are playing like the old Arsenal at the moment. Not much entertainment but getting results. To be honest I am not bothered and am happy to win all of our games 1-0 as long as we keep picking up three points.

"Harefield were probably unlucky not to get anything from the game because they played well and created the bulk of the chances.

"But that is probably why we are at the top and they are at the bottom because we took our one chance."

Edwards' goalscoring hero was 21-year-old Terrell Lewis who came off the bench to fire them to victory.

The winger has been left on the bench in the last two games after burn-out and Edwards said his side are putting their bodies on the line to get Chalfont to their cherished promotion.

He said: "Terrell has struggled with a few knocks of late and we are asking a lot of players to play through the pain. But he came on and made a huge difference."
