STUART Beavon said Wycombe deserved their late drama against MK Dons.

The 27-year-old top scorer headed in his 22 nd goal of the season in stoppage time to earn his side a 1-1 draw against their derby rivals.

And Beavon said a new-found belief and confidence meant they always felt they could find the leveller.

“It is unbelievable,” he said. “Like I said the other week there is more belief in this team now and we can always dig out a result. We are confident we can keep picking up results.

“It was lucky I caught it sweet enough and lucky it went in. I don't think we deserved to lose and everyone is buzzing in there.”

Beavon had struck up a flourishing partnership with loanee Paul Hayes but the Charlton striker was recalled back to the Addicks yesterday.

He said: “It will be a loss to the team because Hayesy was a part of the way we wanted to play. Today, Macca (McNamee) has stepped up so we have players waiting to come in who are more than capable.”
