Grant Basey

GRANT Basey would be ready to step up and take a penalty at The Valley on Saturday.

The left-back was on his knees after his late miss against Oldham saw Wanderers miss the chance to go 3-1 up before conceding a late equaliser.

Blues boss Gary Waddock said he took the 23-year-old to one side at the training ground this week to lift his spirits.

Asked if Basey would be on penalty duty at Charlton this weekend, Waddock said. “Yes he will. I had a chat with him and he is fine. He was down, obviously, but he is ok now.”
