A thief has stolen a charity collection box from Burnham Library.

Wearing a dark hooded top, the robber broke in between 10.20pm and 10.30pm on Sunday (November 20) by smashing a glass door.

The pot, containing cash, was labelled 'Friends of Burnham Library' and was robbed from under the front desk in the main section of the library on Windsor Lane.

The theft comes only a month after a Poppy Appeal collection box and another charity collection box were stolen from the same library .

Police are appealing for any information.

Investigating Officer PC Emma Calow of Amersham Police Station said: “This is the second burglary at Burnham Library in the last month.

"Charity collection pots containing cash were also stolen on 27 October at around 12.10am.

"On that occasion entry was gained through a different door but also by breaking glass in the bottom panel.
