People took part in the third annual School Aid fun run.

Held in Gerrards Cross on Sunday (July 3) morning, the sun shone after days of heavy rain as youngsters and adults raised money for the charity.

School Aid general manager Claire Junak said: “In the past week we have been very busy clearing the route which had become extremely overgrown due to the warm wet weather. We were just hoping that the rain would disappear for today and we have been very lucky. The weather was perfect.”

The fun run/walk followed a 5km route from Bulstrode Park, through Hedgerley and was open both to serious runners and to children with their families.

For the tiny tots there was a shorter, 2km run/walk, entirely within the park.

First back was Josh Lee, aged 13, who completed the 5km route in an 26 minutes and the individual winner of the 2km route was Abbie Lee who completed it in 10 minutes.

The first 5km family to return were the Gilmores and the first 2km family was the Lee family, who received John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers.

School Aid would like to thank sponsors Chewton Rose, a local estate agent, and The Bull Hotel.
