Penn's best known resident, Mary Berry, broke millions of hearts across the globe when she decided to leave the Great British Bake Off after seven seasons, but there is good news if you are craving another slice of the master baker.

Mary is one of the judges on the American version of the show, The Great American Baking Show.

American pastry chef Johnny Luzzini takes up Paul Hollywood’s customary place alongside the octogenarian, while husband and wife duo Nia Vardalos and Ian Gomez host the series, in place of Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

Her first episode reached an audience of just over 4,6 million, but its suffers from being on at the same time as Thursday Night Football, which attracted over 16 million viewers.

Whilst some have accused her of having lost her magic touch, she’s certainly not down and out, with several high profile UK television appearances to come.

‘Merry Mary’ will be on our screens on Christmas Day, reunited with the original Bake Off stars for a never before seen Christmas special at 4.45pm, after Frozen, on BBC One.

Then, in the new year, Mary has managed to get two BBC Series. “Mary Berry’s Secrets from Britains Great Houses” will air on BBC One whilst the national treasure will star in a six episode cooking show “Mary Berry Everyday”.

The Americans who did watch fell in love with Mary Berry's accent. Here's how they reacted on Twitter:
