A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body of a woman found in Gerrards Cross today (Tue).
Police were called at 8.36am today to reports of a body found by a passing motorist in a lay-by in Amersham Road, A413, Gerrards Cross.
Officers have arrested a 50-year-old man from Hayes in Middlesex on suspicion of murder.
Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are continuing to follow a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances of her death.
The body of the woman has yet to be identified and next of kin have not been informed
A Home Office post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.
Supt Yvette Hitch, LPA Commander for Chiltern and South Bucks, said: “Officers are at the scene working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of woman. We are in the very early stages of our investigation and a scene watch is in place.
“I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident or who may have seen anything out of the ordinary in the area - please call 101 as soon as possible.
“Officers from the local Neighbourhood Team are making house to house enquiries and patrolling locally to provide reassurance. If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to approach an officer.”
