Organisers are full of praise for an ‘amazing’ street party celebrating the Queen’s Birthday.

The Gerrards Cross Community Association held a party to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th which saw around 140 people flock to the Memorial Hall.

Along with performances from three bands - including a jazz quartet from Dr Challoner’s School - there were also royal games, including a welly toss, and a look-a-like of the Queen, complete with inflatable corgies.

Suzie Bower at the association said: “It was just amazing. In the morning when I was putting tp the marquees it was chucking it down.

“But in the afernoon the sun came out and shone - we were so lucky so we had a funny afternoon.”

She added: “It was better than could be expected - the Memorial Centre was bursting at the seems and the antiques fair had more numbers through the door. It was a really busy day.”
