Nearly 200 people and dogs flocked to Gerrards Cross for an inaugural chihuahua festival.

Held at Colston Hall on Saturday August 20 to celebrate the tiny breed, it was organised by online dog boutique owner Rachel Monk.

There was also an attempt to beat a world record for the biggest dog yoga - or doga - class, which was set in Hong Kong and saw 270 dogs and their owners take part.

Rachel said: “It went really well. It started off as a bit of a bonkers pipe dream, to get all these chihuahuas together and we’re really pleased with the turn out.

She said that people came from all over the world, including Brazil and Edinburgh, and the ‘feedback as been amazing’.

Rachel, from Farnham Common, said they created Haus of Chihuahua and were inspired by their beloved pets Rocco and Indie.

One of the star guests of the show was Dolly Pawton, a fellow chihuahua who has more than has more than 35,000 followers on Instagram.

Dolly was joined by ITV’s Top Dog Model, Lucky, to judge a ‘fun dog talent show’ featuring categories like prettiest pooch, handsomest hound and best rescue dog.

Other activities for attendees included a dog grooming class, stalls selling chihuahua treats and accessories and each attendee had their own ‘chihuahua pawtrait’ taken.
