A TALENTED youngster from Beaconsfield has received praise from an internationally renowned artist for his work.

Joshua Jackson, 10, a year five pupil at Holtspur School, has received a handwritten letter from internationally renowned artist and Royal Academician, Allen Jones.

Joshua had sketched Dancers, one of Jones's sculptures, so skillfully that the school that the artist should see it.

They emailed him, and he wrote back straight away saying how he liked the drawing and giving Joshua tips on being an artist.

He said that he hoped that Joshua enjoyed art as much as he did when he was at school and wished him the best of luck for the future.

Deirdre Smaje, a governor at the school, said: "The sculpture is quite complicated and abstract but Joshua just sat down and drew it, no hesitation or rubbing out."
