Chesham Grammar School hosted a senior citizens party for nearly 200 guests recently.

Staff members Rachel Baillie and Karen McKenzie co-ordinated the whole event with many other staff and pupils volunteering

Several groups of pupils performed music and singing before a mass sing-along of Christmas carols which was followed by raffle prizes and gifts, donated by pupils, parents and staff. Mimi Harker, Chairman of Chiltern District Council, and Noel Brown, Chehsam Town Mayor, also paid a visit.

Headteacher, Annmarie McNaney, said: “We were delighted to welcome so many elderly guests to our party.

“Our students did a wonderful job and they enjoyed the event as much as the guests did.

“I am grateful to the staff and students who were here and who made what has become a school institution possible.

“I would also like to thank the mayor of Chesham, Noel Brown, and chairman of Chiltern District Council, Mimi Harker, for coming.

“Finally, thanks to all the local businesses who supported the event either by sending a donation or providing a raffle prize.”
