Fiona Dunbar writes children’s books, including the Lulu Baker stories, which have been made into a television series by the BBC, called Jinx.

She gave a series of workshops at St Mary’s School, in Packhorse Road, Gerrards Cross, on Monday for girls aged between nine and 13 on creative writing. Later she spoke to sixth-formers who are interested in journalism and other types of writing before going on a tour of the school.

Vanessa Ovington, the school’s marketing officer said: “Some parts have not changed but Fiona was surprised by all the facilities which have been added.”
