Amersham 'altercation' leaves two men injured

A MAN aged 44 is in hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in Amersham.

A MAN aged 44 is in hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in Amersham.

It follows an altercation involving around seven people in Weller Close last night (November 17, 8.40pm), in which two men were injured.

The 44 year old was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with serious head injuries. He has now been transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

A 23 year old man also received hospital treatment for facial injuries, he has since been discharged.

Two men, aged 18 and 23, and a 21 year old woman, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and affray are currently in police custody.

Det Insp Sharon Hill, investigating the incident, said: "The people involved in this incident all knew each other and had made arrangements to meet. The community should not be overly alarmed, as this was not a random attack. We have arrested three people in connection with the incident, but would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed it or has any information."
